CalRecycle lists these 43 sites as permitted to receive dirt & soil. Most are transfer stations and recyclers that mainly serve haulers and contractors; some take the public. We haven't confirmed which. Call before going.

Dirt & soil disposal by city

Good to know

Clean dirt (no trash, roots or contamination) is usually accepted as inert material and priced by weight or load.

Some landfills accept clean soil at a reduced rate or for free because they use it as daily cover. Others don't take dirt at all, so check the facility before loading a trailer.
