Good to know
Clean green waste is accepted at composting sites and most landfills at a lower rate than trash.
Palm fronds, stumps and large logs are sometimes excluded from green waste programs or charged separately.
California requires residential organics collection in most areas, so small amounts usually go in the curbside green cart.
Other ways
- Curbside organics cart. Routine trimmings fit in the green cart in most California jurisdictions.
Don't bother
These do not take yard waste: Palm Springs Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility, Anaheim Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center, Irvine Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center.
